How Royal Brick Façade Tiles Were Created: Six Months to Perfect the Colours
While working with customers looking for thermal insulation panels, the Royal Facade team noticed growing demand for façades with the appearance of traditional aged brickwork. Homeowners across Ukraine and Europe increasingly preferred warm brick tones, enhanced by darker accents and natural colour variations.
This growing interest in authentic brick-effect finishes inspired Royal Facade to develop a new collection of façade tiles: Royal Brick, featuring a distinctive colour palette inspired by traditional Bavarian-style brickwork.
Bavarian-Style Brickwork: The Timeless Appeal of Aged Brick
The inspiration behind Royal Brick came from traditional Bavarian-style brickwork, known for its characteristic combination of light and dark brick tones.
The Royal Brick design team carefully blended terracotta, sandy beige and rich brown shades with subtle grey and graphite accents. The result is a colour palette that captures the warmth and natural character of traditional brick façades.
To recreate the appearance of aged brick, the designers introduced lighter speckles, weathered textures and carefully balanced colour variations. Dark brown patches on selected tiles resemble the marks left by traditional brick firing.
This approach creates a remarkably natural effect: colour variations appear not only between individual tiles but also across the surface of each tile.
The result is a brick-effect façade with depth, character and authentic visual appeal, suitable for both traditional homes and contemporary architectural projects.
A Joint Development by Royal Facade and Golden Tile
Bringing the Royal Brick concept to life required close collaboration between two experienced manufacturers:
- Royal Facade – manufacturer of thermal insulation panels. Drawing on years of experience in façade insulation solutions and customer preferences, the company developed the design concept and established the requirements for the new collection.
- Golden Tile – manufacturer of ceramic and porcelain tiles. The company contributed its production facilities, technical expertise and experience in manufacturing porcelain stoneware.
The collaboration resulted in Royal Brick: a distinctive collection of durable porcelain stoneware façade tiles, featuring a specially developed colour palette inspired by Bavarian-style brickwork.
Six Months of Colour Development and Refinement
The development process began with an analysis of the most popular façade tile designs chosen by Royal Facade customers. Based on this research, the team established the desired colour palette, surface texture and transitions between different shades.
The next stage involved extensive testing and refinement to achieve the right balance between all the visual elements.
💡 One of the greatest challenges was finding the perfect intensity for the darker areas. These needed to remain clearly visible without creating excessive contrast with the main colour of the tile.
Particular attention was also paid to transitions between lighter and darker sections within each individual tile. The goal was not simply to create an attractive sample. Royal Facade wanted the finished tiles to produce a harmonious, natural-looking effect across an entire building façade.
This meant evaluating both individual tiles and larger arrangements to ensure that the overall appearance remained balanced and visually appealing.

Perfecting the colours and surface textures of Royal Brick took approximately six months.
The final stage was selecting a manufacturing partner with the expertise and technology required to produce high-quality porcelain stoneware.
Golden Tile was chosen for its manufacturing capabilities, the quality of its raw materials, including Ukrainian kaolin clay, and its ability to achieve competitive production costs.
Why Choose Royal Brick Thermal Insulation Panels?
The Royal Brick collection offers more than the appearance of traditional aged brickwork. When incorporated into Royal Facade thermal insulation panels, these tiles combine decorative façade cladding with an effective external wall insulation solution.
Key Benefits of Royal Brick:
- Premium architectural appearance. Porcelain stoneware tiles inspired by traditional Bavarian-style brickwork create an elegant, timeless finish reminiscent of aged brick façades.
- Practical, low-maintenance finish. The carefully developed pattern of lighter speckles and darker areas helps make dust and minor surface dirt less noticeable, keeping the façade looking attractive.
- Versatile colour combinations. Warm terracotta and brown tones, balanced with grey and graphite accents, complement a wide range of roof colours, window frames, doors and plinth finishes commonly found in European architecture.
- Natural depth and visual texture. Subtle colour variations between individual tiles, combined with contrasting grout joints, enhance the appearance of traditional brickwork and add dimension to the façade.
Royal Brick thermal insulation panels are part of the Royal Facade external wall insulation system, combining an insulating layer with decorative porcelain stoneware tiles manufactured by Golden Tile.
This integrated solution allows homeowners to achieve the distinctive appearance of a traditional brick façade while benefiting from modern thermal insulation technology.
Whether renovating an existing property or finishing a newly built home, Royal Brick offers an attractive combination of architectural character, practicality and thermal performance.
